Mr.David is non-Executive Chairman and former President of H&Q Philippines, Inc., which manages 3 country funds and was a member of the Executive, Investment and Compensation Committees of H&Q Asia Pacific. He has served in a concurrent capacity as Regional Managing Director for ASEAN of H&Q Asia Pacific; and serves as Board Director for H&Q Asia Ventures Fund (Singapore) and H&Q (Thailand) Ltd. Mr. David has invested and served as Director and/or Executive Committee member in a variety of mostly private companies in the Philippines, Singapore, Thailand, India and the United States of America.
Prior to joining H&Q Asia Pacific in 1987, Mr. David served as Senior Vice President and Chief Investment Officer for the American International Group (AIG) companies in the Philippines, most notably, the Philippine American Life Insurance Company, AIU Philippines and New Hampshire Insurance. Mr. David served as Vice President-Treasurer and CFO of First Philippine Holdings Corporation, a listed diversified holding company. He had responsibility for debt management, controllership, treasury and financial planning for the group. He also worked as VP Finance & Administration for MCCI Corporation, an electro-metallurgical company.
Mr. David received his Master in Business Management, with distinction, from the Asian Institute of Management and his Bachelor of Arts in Economics (honours program), from the Ateneo de Manila University. He is a Filipino citizen, resident of Manila.
Mr. David is currently a Trustee of the Ateneo de Manila University and Advisor to the John Gokongwei School of Management. He is President of the Management Board operating A Living for Christ Foundation Gawad Kalinga projects in Bagong Silang, Kalookan, a work with the poor in the largest squatter relocation project in Metro Manila. He was a co-Founder of United People Power Movement, which selected then Defence Secretary Fidel Ramos to become a candidate for President of the Republic of the Philippines. He was also a Trustee of the Asian Institute of Management, and Director of the Financial Executives Institute of the Philippines.
